MAKE UP WORK

Students:

A friendly reminder:  If you are absent, whether it is excused and/or unexcused, you are still responsible for work missed in class.  Hence, the following choices will at least help you in the class/work points, which is worth 25% of your grade.

This website will also be shared with counselors, whom may also share it with parents and guardians.

All make-up work is due before the end of the marking period, which will be reflective in that marking period.

Assignment choices:

#1  Look in the New York Times Newspaper and find the arts section.  Choose an art and article that discusses points about the art.  Make a photo copy of the art and article.  Attach your reflective criticism of your strong opinions (at least 3), and discuss why they are so important.

Each article successfully accomplished will count as a class project (teacher may ask for more articles depending on the valued point worth of a particular project.

#2  Collect a collection of drawings (10) in a portfolio and annotate a short description of each. +

#3  Go to a museum -- this option is especially for seniors whom wish to earn independent credit --

There are hundreds of galleries and museums to visit and explore in New York City.  Find one that interests you.  A popular one is the Met located in Manhattan on 5th avenue and 81st .

Find 5 art works. Take a picture of each.
Write the credit line information for each
Compare and contrast similarities and/ or differences -- items to kook for are subject / content
Write a persuasive short essay , persuading and convincing you readers to buy a painting.

#4  Your own ideas must be discussed and approved by teacher.
